"I think a professional football has good moments and some not so good. Those who criticize Christian understand nothing about football. A player can not please everyone," he said, as part of an initiative of the `Fundación Luis Figo´ in Madeira.
Also defended the figure of the Portuguese, "a symbol of the island, which represents the best culture of Madeira", while declined comment on his "performance" as captain: "Each has its own way to be, "he said.
On the other hand, on the Euro, in which the `tuga´ face off in the first phase with the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, Figo was hopeful. "It´s hard to choose rival. Portugal has always been better with tough opponents, so I think we can make a big Euro" he said.
